About the Annual Immunize Georgia Conference
The Georgia Department of Public Health hosts an annual Immunize Georgia Conference that educates healthcare providers on the latest requirements, updates and news regarding immunization services. It is an effort to connect public and private health practitioners for a common cause: improving Georgia's immunization rates and protecting every adult and child from vaccine-preventable diseases.
The conference brings renowned speakers including subject matter experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, top tier research universities and respected hospitals from across the country. In addition, the Immunize Georgia Conference recognizes new immunization champions every year with the Walt Orenstein Champions for Immunization Award, given to select individuals, agency or coalitions who demonstrate excellence in immunization care. Also presented is the Clay Coleman Excellence in Customer Service Award has been established as a way to honor those Georgia state Immunization Program staff members who personify the ideals of exemplary customer service that goes above and beyond the call of duty with the ultimate goal of Immunizing Georgia.
To recognize the hard work implemented by those everywhere within the State, this one-day conference is held in different locations around Georgia.
The education of our healthcare providers - everyone from our physicians, nurses and our clinical staff to pharmacists in our local retailers -- impacts us all. So in addition to a full roster of incredible speakers and presentations, we also apply to provide CME, CNE (contact hours) and CE credits for RNs and LPNs, pharmacists and pharmacy techs and issue certificates of completion and attendance to all other attendees including medical assistants, clinical staff, medical/nursing/pharmacy students and others involved in immunization services.
The conference happens in September of every year and we hope that you will join us to learn the latest in best practices and news for immunization services. If you have any questions about the conference, please feel free to email ImmunizeGeorgia@golin.com, or call 470-419-8666.
